The van door won't open without a fight.

She has to push hard. Real hard. The whole undercarriage is rusted through. A family friend welded steel bars underneath just to make it safe enough to drive.

But she drives it anyway. Every single day.

Because her son Keegan has cerebral palsy. Epilepsy. Chiari malformation. Hydrocephalus. Scoliosis. And that's not even the full list.

He has medical appointments. Therapy appointments. And his favorite thing in the whole world is to just go for long drives.

So she loads his wheelchair into a van that's falling apart and prays it holds together one more time.

She's a single mom. It's always been just the two of us, she says. She can't work. Keegan needs full time care. They survive on the kindness of churches, nonprofits, and food banks.

When asked how she does it, she paused. I'm just a mom, she said quietly. Just a mom being a mom.

It took 12 years to get Keegan to a place where he's finally happy. He communicates with his eyes. He listens to his favorite radio show. He kicks back in his recliner surrounded by love.

All she wants now is a van that won't break down. One that's safe enough to take him to California to see the ocean. To visit the aunt she's never been able to reach.

Your donation today can help give this mother and son a reliable vehicle so she can keep caring for Keegan without fearing every drive could be their last.

Please give now.
